Recreational and Hunting

Located in the Plains Unit 137, this unit allows for unlimited “C” tags for either sex elk rifle hunting and extended season dates you will not find anywhere else in the country. The season is a full five months (September 1 through January 31).  If you are a bow hunter you can grab OTC licenses for either sex elk September 2nd-30th.  SE Colorado is known for its excellent mule deer hunting especially on these wooded ridge and canyon ranches.  Additionally, because of the ranch size it will qualify for enrollment in the Landowner Preference Program allowing for additional mule deer tags each year.  Bear also roam the canyons and draws of this ranch and the licenses are over the counter.  The ranch has only been lightly hunted for many years and is surrounded by large ranches for added protection. The property features beautiful wooded mesa top land overlooking several canyon areas that attract and hold big game. The ranch offers miles of back country horseback riding, hiking and ATV use into private canyon areas, mesa land and thick cedar hillsides.

Water Resources

The Ranch features earthen pond collection areas and seasonal wet weather canyons.  In addition, there is one well which feeds a pipeline and tanks that are placed around the property.

Agricultural Zoning – Taxes based on 2023 estimated assessments are $380 per year.
